The Proper Way To Install A Drawer With Full Extension Metal Glides

Full Extension glides are becoming a norm for quality furniture. They are unsurpassed for strength, low maintenance, smooth gliding and the fact that they allow the drawer to extend much farther out.

Although wood on wood glides have a vintage class to them, we personally prefer the full extension glides over all other glide systems.

When installing a drawer that has full extension glides, there really is not much information out there explaining the proper method. If you do not install the drawer correctly, you will likely destroy the drawer and much of the bearings will fall out.

The proper method is to push the glides all the way closed. Then line up the mating glide parts on the drawer to the ones on the furniture piece. Then gently push the drawer in until seated. Don't rock back and forth, simply straight in.
