At Inspired American we pride ourselves in manufacturing durable long lasting products that are unique and exclusive to us. It is our desire to build furniture that will be passed on to generations to come.

Our reclaimed furniture line is built from wood primarily from barn structures that date back from the early 1900's and prior. The reason we build from such aged wood is not only for its beautiful character and patina but also for its durability. Older woods are typically much stronger than woods of today. Not only is it strengthend by age but it also has much tighter ring patterns.

Inorder to bring out the true colors and character of the Barnwood, we take it through a labor intensive process. We first hand select each piece of dated wood for its character and durabiltiy. We then clean and refine it. The construction process includes tenon and mortise for strength. Once constructed we seal it with light stains and in most cases finalize it with hand rubbed wax.

Our country style furniture line is crafted primarily from oak pine, fir and hemlock for that traditional look. Much of it is distressed and painted where other pieces are stained. The outcome is a beautiful hint of the past. It also is typically constructed using tenon and mortise.
